Nathan Hardyman Value Environment

  1. Super fun perspective! Way to tackle it! I love how the buildings fade off at the bottom too. I feel like maybe it has just a bit too much texture. I wish some of the plains were smoother, but other than that I love it!

  2. Nate this is such a fun idea I love it. I really like the soft textures you've got and the subtle gradations of value. It's interesting that you decided to place your character directly in the middle but honestly I don't think it would work any other way with the shapes you've created in the background so way to make an interesting composition. One thing you could try is to darken the lines of the building around your little rocket man so as to frame him a little more, he's so tiny he almost gets lost in the environment. Other then that good job, I had to think too hard to come up with a critique to offer :)

  3. Nate, you killed it again! The one thing I wouldn't mind is if it was busier. Like more flying people or flying cars or silhouettes in the windows. Was it Giancola who referred to "busy town"? It'd be cool to see it like that, but overall I actually like the texture and really like the piece. I guess you could make the flying guy pop a little more by doing what Renee said, but overall well done.

  4. Very nice. The only thing that feels lacking to me is that you have architectural design elements on just a few buildings, and the rest are just blocks with windows. Some more details in the other buildings would give them a bit more character.
